I'd LOVE to give you all the gory details, but I'm exhausted. Not as tired as mom or baby, but I'm actually ABLE to sleep, so I'm going to.

What I will do now is upload some of my favorite pictures to satiate the curiosity of those who would like to know. He's perfect. I'll show you.

Pregnancy end in sight!

This will be my last post as a pregnant woman!!! Woo hoo!!! As expected our OB scheduled our induction at the visit today. Frank and I will be at the hospital tonight, at 11:45pm, to start the birthday party. Looks like we will be having a Veterans Day baby. I'm still 3cm dilated and the doctor was pleased that my cervix was soft so I will just need pitocin. I'm hoping that just a little kick of pitocin will start real contractions since I've been having irregular contractions for over 2 days. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers! I'll be sure to have Frank post pictures as soon as possible.

6 days late!

It's the eve of being 6 days post dates! Wow! I must be a really comfortable incubator. I have been having contractions for the last 36+ hours, at times being as regular as every 5 to 10 minutes and quite uncomfortable. We went to the hospital this morning even though knew I would be sent home. I just wanted the reassurance. I'm now 3cm and 70% effaced. The nurse assured me that my irregular contractions are completely normal and are part of the early stage of labor. So, things are in the works but are just moving more slowly than I'd like. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon and will most likely be sent to the hospital for induction afterwards. It was wonderful to see my Dad and Sister this weekend and wish that we could have had the baby while they were here! Well, I'm off to bed early. These contractions throughout the night make sleeping difficult!

Crazy Dogs

For Finn the best part about having my Mom here, is having Toby here to play with. Finnegan, weighing in at 90lbs, is second in command to Toby, who's a whopping 17lbs! They absolutely love each other and will run and play all day long. Where one is the other is sure to be close by. They have been a lot of fun to watch!


They are playing with a tiny piece of tennis ball that has seen much better days! All the growling you hear is from Toby.

Another uneventful update!

I had another OB appointment today and found out that there has been very little change. The nurse practitioner said that the baby is definitely sitting lower but there has been no further dilation. Dang! This kid is going to have a tight squeeze through an "almost 2" cervix! She was hopeful that things would get started on their own but...I have another OB appointment on Monday afternoon (with my actual OB this time) at which point I will be induced. So, this kid needs to come out this weekend while Grandpa is here! My Mom and I have been doing a lot (for me) of walking. Retail therapy is good for this situation!!! And we tested the theory that spicy food will help by eating Mexican food for lunch today.

It's Go Time!

As the baby count down ticker says, "It's go time!" We have reached the 40 week mark and are still in a holding pattern!!! I went for my normal AFI/NST this morning and everything looked good. The baby had a very active heart rate on the monitor, he is still head down (no last minute flipping!) and the fluid level was 10.7 which is normal for the end of pregnancy. The only exciting thing I can pass on is that I lost my mucous plug yesterday. I know, too much info! But, I'm hoping that that means that something is going on. I spent yesterday feeling crampy, but am still having only a few contractions. I'm really getting a bit impatient. I'm ready to meet this baby! :-) Maybe he is just waiting until his Grandpa Thorne and Auntie Marcy get here this weekend. I have an OB visit scheduled for Thursday and then a repeat AFI/NST on Friday, if I last that long!

Boo (Hoo)

Happy Halloween! This year I'm going as the Incredibly Pregnant Woman! Yep, you guessed right, no baby yet. I had a doctor appointment yesterday where I found out that nothing has changed. Bummer! The Nurse Practitioner that I see is really funny and kept making jokes about how comfy the baby is inside. It was sweet of her to try and make me feel better but I'm so ready for this kid to come out. I am feeling much better today than I did yesterday so that is a plus. I guess I can't complain too much since I'm not due until Tuesday. The doc said that they would let me go about a week post dates since this is my first and the baby looks great. I'm betting on an induction on Nov 10th! I like to think that the baby is just being fiscally responsible, if he were to be born today we'd have to pay for his insurance for the entire month of October. What a good boy to think ahead and get the most bang for our buck! My amniotic fluid level was 11 today, which was very good. We just get to continue the waiting game.
