Whittier Stake Picnic

Today was the Whittier Stake picnic. We had a great time visiting with friends, seeing people we haven't seen since our wedding and (for me) meeting people that I only know from blogging! Liam was a trooper and had fun socializing and flirting. After the picnic we went to Frank's parents house for pizza and ice cream. Liam had his first taste of Chocolate Malt Ice cream....little booger turns up his nose at applesauce and bananas but opens his mouth like a baby bird for tasty ice cream. That clinched it, he is my child for sure! Liam skipped his nap but was out as soon as we got in the car. I just love to watch him sleep. So peaceful, so serene, so still.

Going.....

...going.....

...gone.

This crazy hair cracked me up, just couldn't stick it down!

Just playing with the camera.

Smartie pants!

I finally got around to getting out our "old" camera to take some video of Liam rolling over from his back to his tummy. He has been doing this since March 29th.....just took me forever to document it. Notice Finn is in the videos too, he kept walking in front of the camera. Can't let the little guy get all the fame!

And here is Liam showing off how he wants to crawl. Remember he is only 5 months and one week old. Wow! He's going to be a boy on the move. And just in case you were wondering, it was 1:30pm and we were still in our PJs! Why get dressed?

Happy Birthday...to ME!

Wow! How can I be 32 years old? I still feel about 22! But I'm so happy with where I am in my life right now. At 22, I dreamed of having a loving, sweet husband, a beautiful baby, a home of my own and a dog. I dreamt of a life full of happiness. At 32, I have so much better than I ever dreamed. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. I can't believe how much I love Frank. Each day that goes by I have more appreciation of what a wonderful man he is. He is so kind and loving....even when I'm tired and really grumpy. Then there's our precious Liam. He is so much fun. My sweet little cuddle bug. I love to watch him as he learns and grows. And of course, there's our "first" baby, Finn. How can you not love a Lab? Sure he eats Kleenex, sometimes drinks from the toilet and sheds so much hair that I wonder how he's not bald, but he loves unconditionally. Today Liam was feeling under the weather which meant we had another doctor visit. That makes 2 in 5 days. Poor kiddo has bronchitis and now some sort of other virus. But we still managed to make it out to Disneyland for a quick dinner and to get our Disney birthday bucks. I look forward to this year. I know that we will do a lot of work, be tired....even exhausted, but I know that Heavenly Father is watching out for our little family and will bless us with those things that we need. What an exciting time in my life! Wow, 32!

My Love

My boys

Liam scored a new onesie after he spit up all over his clothes (and Daddy!)

A little blurry, but so cute!

"The Lip"

This is what you get when you don't get "the lip"

You two melt my heart!

Love my new lense! Thanks Honey!

Happy Spring!

I love this time of year. Easter arrives, the weather is nice and this year we get to celebrate Liam's new and exciting little life. Liam is now 5 months old! I can't believe how fast it has gone and how much he has changed. He is so fun. Such a smart, active and loving little guy. He is now fond of giving very wet, slobbery kisses...I'm not sure if they are really kisses or he is just trying to bite us with his little tooth. For those of you keeping track of his stats he is now 15lbs 12.5oz and 27 inches long. That puts him about 45th percentile for weight and 90th for length. I had a blast this year dressing him up in his bunny ears. I'm not so sure he really liked it but a basket full of fun things did manage to keep him distracted long enough to take his picture. Frank tells me this is the last year he can wear bunny ears. But they are just so cute!

Our big 5 month old!

Love that silly grin.

Happy Easter!

If you look really close you can see his little tooth! Look really, really close!

Poor boy is a mouth breather lately since he still has a really stuffy nose.

Here are the pictures that were promise way back when Liam wasn't feeling so well. The photo session went something like this...

Mommy: Liam! Lets take some pictures!

Liam: Huh?

Mommy: Hey Liam! Smile!

Liam: Huh?

Mommy: Hey Buddy....Show me that smile.

Liam: Like this?

Mommy: Come on Dude, Smile!
Liam: Let me think about it.

Mommy: Liam....Liam....(then I made lots of noises to try and get his attention)

Liam: What's Finn doing? Come here doggy!

Mommy: Liam, look at Mommy

Liam: Why? Whatcha doing?

Mommy: Hey handsome!
Liam: Are we done yet?

Mommy: Smile Liam, lets take your picture!

Liam: This is all your getting.

Cooties

Our house has been plagued with cooties. Not the little kind that give you a runny nose and cause a minor annoyance, but the kind that leave you hacking, snuffling and unable to breath. I blame it all on Frank since he started this party over 2 weeks ago with a nasty bug that turned into pneumonia. Liam and I stayed FAR away from him and I thought we had made it by without catching those darn cooties until last Thursday when I realized that our luck had run out. Needless to say, I have missed 2 more days of work (which I'm sure I'll hear about when I go back!) Liam has been to the doctor twice and I have been once, I have slept no more than 2 hours straight since last Thursday AND Liam has no appetite and we struggle to keep enough fluids in him. Aaahhh....too much stress. So I officially declare this March to have been the suckyest (is that even a word?) month of 2009. We are done with our sucky month and have only good ones left. That's the way it works, right? Liam did learn a new skill though, this last Sunday he decided to finally roll all the way over from his back to tummy. He's been rolling up on his side for about a month so now he can go all the way over. He also loves to scoot, mostly backwards, all over his play mat, and has decided it's fun to tuck his knees up under his body and assume the crawling pose! Holy cow, not yet Boy! Our doctor was funny because she kept asking how old he was and said that he was "physically and socially at 7 months development". I know, I'm bragging but what else is a Mommy supposed to do. Here are some pictures of our little booger. I was hoping to catch one with a snot bubble but Liam won't make one on command. Those snot bubbles are pretty spectacular though, spectacularly gross!

PS To the Haring Family...I hope it wasn't us that made you sick! We're so sorry if it was. Next time we will try to restrain our cooties! :-)

***Pics soon to follow, when Frank downloads them for me***

More firsts

Liam has been changing soooo much lately. I can't believe he is 4 months old already. Each day he is so different and keeps getting more and more fun. He is so social and interested in the world around him. Here are pics of his most recent firsts. We have ventured into the world of rice cereal...Liam thinks it's pretty gross. Can't really blame him since it looks like paste and tastes like....paste. At his doctor visit he weighed 15 pounds 9 ounces (50%) was 26.25 inches (80%) and his head was 42cm (50%) She was impressed at how active, alert and physically advanced he is! She warned us to baby proof our house soon because he is going to be a kid on the move! We also made the move from his itty-bitty bassinet to big boy crib. This was harder for me than for Liam. In fact is was too hard for me to move him into his own room so our master bedroom now features a beautiful white crib. Frank was not too thrilled about taking the crib apart so we could move it to our room, but he was a good husband and did it for me.

Let me out!
