Our little man…

I never really noticed how quickly time passed before Liam came along.  How can we have a big two year old already?  It seems just a few months ago he was learning to walk, now he runs and jumps.  Liam had been a blessing in our home.  He has brought us such joy and happiness.  He is a 27 pound, 3 foot tall bundle of energy!  He loves to learn and explore.  He is very smart and picks up new skills and words with ease.  He has a wonderful sense of humor.  Trust me, two year old humor is much like adult “boy” humor.  Burps, toots and funny noises are hilarious.  I love that Liam loves to be a helper.  He is always willing to do little chores, like putting his cup in the sink or helping clean up.  He is still very social and loves to be out and about.  He always talks to people at stores, and quickly makes friends everywhere we go.  He talks to all the sales clerks when we go shopping.  It melts my heart to watch him fold his arms, close his eyes and bow his little head at prayer time.  I love to hear him loudly say “amen”, even when it’s in the middle of prayer.  He loves nursery and is *usually* very kind and loving with the other kids.  I still can’t get enough of him… the sound of his voice… the feel of his soft skin.  How can you not fall a little more in love every time he places his little hands on your cheeks and gives you a big, wet kiss on the lips?  It’s the sweetest thing.   So, our dear Liam, know that you are loved beyond words.  You mean the world to us!  Daddy and I feel so lucky you are in our family.  Happy Birthday, sweet boy!

This is Liam’s fake smile.  It’s the one he gives me when I’m shouting,

“Smile Liam, smile!”

This next set of pictures crack me up.  I asked Liam to go stand near the green plants.  He must have heard, stand IN the green plants. It’s an adventure!

Pack it up and head home.

He was such a good boy during his photo session.  We went to get candied apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory as a treat.

Yummy!!!

Halloween!

This Halloween Liam went as…Jimmie Johnson!  We (or at least I) are Nascar junkies.  Liam just likes cars in general and that rhythmic zooming noise is great for getting him to doze off on a Sunday afternoon.  Liam had a blast this year.  He was really into knocking on the doors and would say “treat”.  Forget that “trick” part!  He is such a good boy and would say thank you and good bye as we left.  We only went to about eight houses, just our close neighbors.  Liam scored quite a bit of candy.  He would get a little impatient waiting for the neighbors to open the door and would try to open the doors himself.  Silly boy!

I ordered his fire suit from Nascar.com.  It’s the real deal!

Try to get these two to look forward at the same time!  Liam loves his Finny. Finn is such a good, patient dog.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Thorne for the bucket of dinosaurs and dino book.  We are sure to have many hours of fun with those.

It was finally time to trick-or-treat!  Liam was not shy at all and ran right up there with the big kids.  At most houses we waited so that he could be the one to knock.

Already checking out his loot!  I love how his hat made his ears sick out!

IMG_3985edit

I think we have a picture just like this from last year.  It’s just so cute!

Hmmmm….what should I eat first?  The sour straws were a big hit.  Although they did result in lots of drooling.  I love that Finn is trying to get his share.

Hope everyone had a Happy and Spooky Halloween!

Pumpkin time

This year we took Liam to a pumpkin patch that was near our home.  There was a ton of fun things to do.  We went ahead and splurged for the petting zoo.  Liam had a blast. For most of our time there he was the only kid in with the animals.  Those goats are pretty friendly when you have a cup full of food!  Liam was not afraid at all, I think he thought of them as dogs.  He walked around making all the animal sounds.

This was at the beginning of the trip, when Liam was still clean!

The adventure begins!

IMG_3245edit

This little grey goat loved Liam (and his cup of food) and followed him everywhere.

IMG_3255edit

These goats were not shy.  I love how this one would jump up to mooch for kibble.

Even the chickens were fearless.  There was so much animal poop in there that I just about dunked Liam in hand sanitizer afterwards.

IMG_3304edit

Look how cute these little kids were!!!  So tiny!

Finally picking out a pumpkin

IMG_3358edit

Look how dirty the boy can get playing with pumpkins!  He had dirt smudges all over his face.
