Pumpkin Hunting

I love this time of year. The weather begins to cool, the trees start to drop their leaves and the holidays are right around the corner. This year we get the extra fun of celebrating Liam's first Halloween. We spent a wonderful Saturday with Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Ray and went to hunt up Liam's very first pumpkin. Liam fell asleep in the car and was a little confused by the whole pumpkin patch idea. But after a lot of silly noises, clapping, cheering and tickling he finally warmed up and gave us a few smiles.

This is the "why did Grandpa make me sit on this thing?" look
Finally warming up.
Just so handsome!!!
A little help from Grandpa.
My crazy gang

We got home, grabbed Finner and ran to the park for a quick walk and were treated to an amazing sunset and crows flying home to roost. Very Halloween-y.

On the go...

This post has been long overdue but life has been busy and the computer takes the backseat. As of October 16th, Liam is an official walker. For the last few months he has been sooooo close...cruising along the furniture...taking a step or two to get from one piece to another....needing just one finger to hold for that little extra support. I knew the day would come when he would just let go and walk. In reality, Daddy just let go and off our little dude went. He is now a walking machine, it's thrilling and terrifying to watch. You can't help but cringe and lunge forward to try to catch him as he stumbles. But falling is part of learning and this boy never hesitates to get back up.

Love that look of determination!

Sorry about the focus...I wasn't expecting him to walk! I was just going to torture the poor boy with some poses before I headed off to work but he had other plans! So glad I happened to have had the camera when he decided to take his first steps!

T.G.I. Weekend!

We've had a rough week at the Ellett house. Liam and I got a cold which meant that Liam was stuffy and didn't sleep well and I was stuffy and slept even less! But in the middle of all that "un-fun-ness" were some sweet little moments.... A few weeks ago Frank taught Liam how to blow kisses.

Now my boys can send me off to work with lots of love.

He is such a happy boy. Always full of smiles.

Liam LOVES Finn. And Finn loves (and tolerates) Liam. In this picture Finner is doing his best to ignore the little dude who's pulling his tail.

I had just fixed Liam a bottle of that ever so yummy (not to mention exspensive) formula and he decided that he would rather have....

....dog water.

Refreshing.

Here's a sneak peek of Liam's halloween costume...

...the costume is precious and Liam looks adorable in it.

Who can resist little boot slippers? Not I.

Standing!

3 post in one day....wow. But I had to show off Liam's newest skill. This boy will be walking soon. Can't believe how fast he grows and changes. He has also learned to blow kisses. Just too precious.

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Thorne....

Since Grandma and Grandpa Thorne came to visit we took a little break and ran to Disneyland. It was super hot, but Liam enjoyed playing in the water with Grandma. Here's some pics of my little cutie boy. Love that wild hair!

A wonderful weekend...

When I married Frank, I was not only welcomed into a new family...but to a whole new group of friends. Two of those wonderful friends are Jonathan and Janelle. I feel blessed that they were so kind and open, that they so freely and fully offered me friendship. I was thrilled when Jonathan proposed to Janelle (after just 10 short years!) and I was terrified when Janelle asked me to take pictures at their wedding. Thankfully, my wonderful parents came to visit the same weekend and my Dad helped me with my rookie wedding shots.

Meet the stunningly beautiful bride, Janelle.

Isn't she just gorgeous!?!
And the handsome and charming groom, Jonathan.
The happy couple.

What an exciting way to spend the weekend!

Congratulations Jonathan and Janelle!
XOXO

Liam's first haircut

The before.
For the last few weeks it has been obvious that Liam was in need of a haircut. His bangs touched his eyebrows, his little sideburns were over his ears, and it was pretty long in the back. I hesitated. I have trimmed his hair before but this time he needed a real, big boy hair cut. Today we finally bit the bullet and took him to the "kiddie cuts." Liam was such a good boy! No crying. No fighting. No bribes needed, though I did bring a mini popcicle as a treat just in case.
He looked like such a big boy! Sniff...sniff.

His first professional faux hawk.

Liam liked sitting in the fire truck chair and was
fascinated with the stylists behind him who were using the blowdryer.

Look how big he is!

The stylist, Robin, let him hold the clippers so he could feel them tickle
before she did the final touches.

The after!
Hamming it up with Robin, who was great! She was super fast!
I can't believe how much of a difference a haircut makes. Liam is no longer my little baby...
he's my little boy.
That fact is thrilling and a little sad at the same time.
Friday will mark Liam's 10 month birthday. It's been 10 of the happiest, most fun, and most challenging months of my life. What a beautiful {baby} little boy.
