Catching up

It seems that summer is flying by.   We have had several trips up to the Central Coast and have had family come down to visit and spend time with us.  It has been a lot of fun!  Here are a few pictures of our cutie boy at Gilroy Gardens.  Gilroy Gardens is a park that is built just for little kids!  No wild, running big kids!  No teenagers!  Liam had a blast!  He was such a big boy and went on rides all by himself.

They had a tiny, little carousel.   It was so cute.  It had a maximum height.

Liam rode it about 3 times in a row!

For all eternity….

Families are certainly one of the greatest blessings our Heavenly Father gives us.  I have been blessed with an amazing family.  This weekend we had the opportunity to witness as my sister Marcy and my brother-in-law Jay, were sealed for all eternity in the Oakland Temple.  I can’t begin to tell you how beautiful my sister looked as she walked into the sealing room.  My eyes welled up with tears.  It was an answer to many prayers.  To watch the two of them look at each other with such total love and acceptance was so breathtaking.   Going to the Temple and feeling the Spirit always helps to center me.  Going to the Temple for a sealing, sitting next to my eternal sweetheart, brings such joy and strengthening of testimony.  I am so excited for Marcy and Jay, they are starting such an exciting time in their lives.

Bubbles

We have a bit of a bubble obsession around our house.  Liam was thrilled when Grandma Thorne pulled out the bubbles last weekend.  Not only was Liam a very happy boy, but so was Finn.  Finnegan loves to chase bubbles just about as much as Liam.  The two of them compete for the same bubble popping space.  It’s pretty funny.

IMG_2014edit    I think Finn must like the taste of bubbles.

Our Sweet Josie

We are blessed in life to meet people who in return make us better people. Grandma Josie was one of those people.  She was my Grandpa Roger’s partner, his better half, his… everything.  To us, to our little Liam, she was Grandma Josie.  She was such a wonderful, kind, funny and loving woman. She was the kind of person who was a born care taker.  It didn’t matter if she knew you well or not, she would look after you.   Our family we blessed to have her in it.  She was so good to all of us and most importantly, she offered my Grandpa such unconditional love and friendship.  She will be missed.  The Gospel offers the comfort that we will see her again, but waiting for that time will be difficult.

This picture was taken at my parents house last Christmas.  I remember laughing at Grandpa because he was certain that Liam was going to squirm right out of his arms, notice the grip he’s got on the little guy!

SoCal livin’

I am a California girl.  Born and raised.  But,  I am NOT a southern California girl.  My body is set to be comfortable at a  moderate 70-75 degrees.  So every year when summer comes around, I listen as all my friends cheer for the heat that I dread.  Don’t get me wrong, I like a nice warm day now and then.  It’s fun to hit mid 80’s and be able to splash around in the water…but mid 80’s is no where near the heat we have been having.  For the last week we have been experiencing triple digit heat.  That’s right!  100 degrees or more!  Come on, that’s not a little heat… that’s like the surface of the sun!  I’m sure that Frank is tired of hearing me moan about the weather. *yes I am*  I run from my air conditioned house, to my air conditioned car to where ever I’m going, which will certainly be air conditioned.  I had to work the other day so I begged Frank to run us down to 7-11 for a soda.  I think I am keeping the Coca Cola company in business this summer!  The thermometer in the car said 106 degrees!  ONE-O-SIX!!!  To be fair it did cool down once we drove a bit, to 102.   But I’m sorry, 102 degrees at 5:30pm is just awful!   Since Frank and I were having soda, we decided to get Liam his very first Slurpee.  It was cherry.  It was horribly messy.  It was, in Liam’s opinion, absolutely delicious!  We ran home and loaded Liam in his chair in hopes of keeping the cherry red mess contained.

Peek-a-boo

Liam loves to play in the curtains.  Sometimes he just likes to sit, leaned up against the doors and hang out in the sunshine. Other times he likes to sit and read his books.  A few days ago he was being super silly and would peek his head out from between the curtains.  It still amazes me how he can be so entertained with such simple little games.

I guess bumps and bruises are just part of being a boy…or maybe part of being a 19 month old.  Liam wears his share of bumps.  Good thing he’s tough!

Happy 4th of July

We celebrated the 4th by going over to Grandpa Ray and Grandma Ruth’s house.  It was fun to see all the extended family and friends.  Plus…they can legally do fireworks in thier town.  Liam was feeling under the weather so he was completely non-cooperative when it came to pictures.

Meet Liam’s cutie cousin Cassie.

 IMG_1805edit

Strike a pose.

Cassie was a crack up, she kept tabs on her cousin…”baby Liam”

 IMG_1812edit

This picture is to dispel the notion that Liam is always cooperative.  This is the best picture of him that I could get.  He wore an adorable little outfit with red, white, and blue plaid shorts and his “Mr. Independent” shirt.  The shirt says it all!

IMG_1831

Liam was not too thrilled with the fireworks at first.  A little too loud for the small guy.  Good thing that Grandpa’s flashlight was so entertaining!
