Just because….

Last night we went to the park, I brought my camera….just because.  It feels like time has been slipping away lately.  Liam grows and changes so quickly.  At times it seems that it all goes too fast.  I want to hit the pause button.  I want to enjoy these moments, these nothing special, just because moments.

Our little Valentine

I love to take pictures of Liam.  He is so full of energy and life.  Every holiday that comes around is another excuse to take more pictures.  With Valentine’s Day approaching, I searched for a cute shirt to put him in.  Either they were all too small or were horribly “un-cool”.  Frank found this adorable Tony Hawk shirt at Kohl's.  I love it because he can wear it the rest of the year too.   I had just done a  mini session with a friend’s little girl and was driving home.  The timing was just right, the light was beautiful, they were watering the field so a lovely mist flitted across the horizon.  I called Frank and my Mom and said “HURRY!  GET LIAM DRESSED!  I’VE GOT A GOOD SPOT TO TAKE PICTURES!”   I think I really did scream it out to Frank!!!  I’m always so excited when these moments pop up.  Since I had just taken pictures of a little girl I still had a little purple chair in the back of the van.  It’s not a very “manly” chair but it’s for Valentine’s Day so it’s all good!

So here are way too many pictures of our little Valentine.  He truly is the definition of love.  Pure. Simple. Honest. Love.   He has brought a new layer of love into our home that I didn’t even know was missing.  Amazing how children do that.  They change your life, for the better.

Boys will be boys!  This was the best part of the shoot for Liam.

We did it over and over and all laughed the whole time!

Didn’t stick the landing but who’s judging?

The sprinklers were just too tempting.  Liam kept trying to make a break for the water so by the end of the shoot I said “go for it”.  Liam found out that agricultural sprinklers water a little heavier that the ones on our lawn.  I love this series of shots.  When he’s finally sprinkled, the reaction is just priceless.

He came back to tell me “Too wet”.  Yeah, those were some

Park Day

About two weeks ago we had a fun visit from some of my favorite people.  My parents were here visiting and our good friends Stephanie and Reagan stopped by.  We took the boys to the park to take some pictures and play.  The boys had fun together.  Liam was so excited to have a kid his size to play with.  Sorry for the tackling hugs, Reagan!

While we were taking pictures of Reagan, Grandma, Grandpa and Liam ran around the park.  What could be more fun than a couple of bamboo sticks to use as crutches and hit things with?  I was cracking up.  He looked like one of those kids in the ‘save the children’ ads….no money for crutches…just bamboo!

What does the dinosaur say?  “Roar!”  That’s a lot of effort going into that roar!

The boys had a blast together on the disk swings.

Liam figured out that he could stand and make it swing by swaying.

I thought my heart might stop!

Grandpa’s turn.  My Dad hopped up on the swing, camera and all!  I was laughing so hard.  They boys were just staring at him.

Splish Splash

Liam is a total water bug.  He loves to swim…in a pool or in the tub.  He would play in the bath until the water was cold and his lips quivering if I let him.   Here’s just a few pictures of my cute little swimmer.
