Liam has been FIGHTING naps lately. He still REALLY needs them! He is a grumpy mess by dinner time when he skips nap and then has a horrible, fussy night from being so overly tired. It makes it really hard for me. I have gotten to the point in this pregnancy where sleep is not that comfortable, I just can’t find many comfortable positions, and then add a fussy kid to the mix and I get very little sleep at night! So I need my afternoon nap too! Liam is just too smart. I have tried everything….cuddling in the recliner together, cuddling in bed, sleeping on the couch, blankets on the floor, bribes, promises of treats and fun activities, and finally the threat of a mean, grumpy Mommy. This week he has seen “mean Mommy” more than once. I get so frustrated at times, this Mommy thing is really hard. But today after we had struggled and struggled I decided, if the little booger was going to be awake then we were going to do something that I wanted to do. I have been trying to improve my indoor, natural light photography skills. With a new baby to take pictures of I have been scoping out the light and options in my home. So today I made an impromptu mini studio and had my “non-napper” be my model. Ha! Take that one kiddo!
Doesn’t that look say, trouble!
It’s hard to stay upset at him for too long! But please, Liam boy,
Take. A.Nap!

Cute photos of Liam. You have a real photo talent. I got a kick out of reading your comments about Liam not napping. I remember the days of raising our 5 kids and when they turned the corner to NOT wanting to take naps. I used to lie down with them and read a Little Golden book or two and they would zonk out and so would I. I would sleep for 15 min. or so, tiptoe out of the room and savor the next 1 1/2 hours I had just for me. Maybe you could set a timer and he just has to "rest" and when the timer goes off, he is free to get up and move about the house?....
so cute Liam! Reagan has struggled. he doesnt fight me on taking a nap, he will do it actually. the problem is when he naps he is up till midnight but when i dont let him nap he is miserable for a few hours and sometimes I just cant take it, especially if Rob is working a 12 hour day. We both have to just push through the misery in different ways because then he will go to bed so easily at 8pm and then I get a night free to myself. but I admit if Jensen is down for a nap at the time I would put R down, I do it. The instant gratification of my own nap or free time prevails and I deal with a 3 yr old up til midnight. good luck!
