For years you were wished for
Then you were hoped for
And finally prayed for
Now you’ve even been worked for
Our love begot you
Our love will guide you
Love will grace all of your days
We feel we’ve known you always
And we anxiously wait to gaze upon your precious face.

36 weeks

We have made to 36 weeks! Can't believe how fast it has gone....and how slow. I had a doctors visit today and everything is going well. My blood pressure was fine (and has been since the took me off work!) and my body is beginning to get ready to have this kiddo. I'm 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I'm sure that's more info than anyone wanted to know but I'm hoping I continue to dilate without even knowing, so it is exciting news to me. I haven't felt anything that I'm sure was a contraction, just pregnancy aches and pains.

We finally got the nursery most of the way done. At least now the baby has a place to sleep. Finn thinks the room is great and loves to run and jump on the bed so he can look out the window. We were excited to have the baby shower recently. Grandma Ruth and Auntie Lisa hosted the party. We had a good time visiting with friends and family (including my Mom (Grandma Thorne), and Aunties Marcy and Darshan all the way from Watsonville.) Grandma Thorne made the baby a beautiful quilt that is sure to be a favorite. I wish it was bigger so I could sleep with it!

And even though we are having a boy you can never have too many shoes. They are so stinkin' cute. Can't wait to see them on his tiny feet!

Well, it's official. I had a doctor appointment today and my blood pressure was a little high so I'm officially off work. I'm 32 weeks and 6 days today. Holy cow, it has gone so fast. I keep thinking that I have more time until the baby gets here but it really is just around the corner. I'm not really looking forward to the birthing process (I'm a big chicken when it comes to pain) but I can't wait to meet our little boy. He is so active! Tossing, turning and hiccuping! The hiccups are really cute and Frank gets to enjoy them as well when my belly goes bump...bump...bump. I'm also looking forward to being able to sleep on my back and stomach again! My back and hips are killing. Oh, the joys of pregnancy. So, now I have a bit more time to get things ready at home. I might just have to vacuum.....might.

Babymoon

Frank and I decided to take a weekend away for a "babymoon." We made the exciting 3 hour drive to Las Vegas and stayed at the Venetian Hotel. The hotel was beautiful....the heat was horrible. 109 degrees is just too hot for me! We had a good time though. We saw the Phantom of the Opera which was really, really good and then just hung out. We wondered through the shops and took lots of naps. I tend to wear out quickly being 7 months pregnant. We had to laugh at how boring we were during our trip. We were back in our room (with dessert, of course!) by 9pm. Here are a few pictures, not the best since I forgot the camera. These are taken with my phone.

Baby's bedroom (Kim's idea, Frank's job)

We've had a few requests for pictures of the nursery. It is still a work in progress. There is a LOT of finish work left to do, but this is what we have up to now.
Ray (Frank's dad) was out to help Frank yesterday and they got a lot done. They were able to finish installing the crown moulding, the beadboard, the beadboard cap, the baseboards, and they encased the window.

This is the (unfinished) window.

This is the corner where you can see that the beadboard ends and the regular painted wall begins. You can also see the crown and the blue yet cloudy sky.

Baby! Baby! Baby!

It's been soooo long since we last update the blog that I figured the I would put some more recent photos up. Marcy (Kim's sister) and her husband Jay had the chance to come and spend about a week with us in July. We took the opportunity to get a 4D ultrasound done while they were here. It is amazing to see what the baby looks like! The ultrasound was scheduled to take 20-30 minutes but about 10 minutes in he covered his head and rolled over...so all we could see was the back of his head. He is in the wrong family to be camera shy!

Big Plans for November 4th 2008!

Well, it's official. Frank and I are expecting a baby in early November!!! Only 35 weeks to go! We are so excited! We feel very blessed that it was so easy for us to conceive and hope that is a sign for how well the rest of the pregnancy (and delivery!) will go. We are thrilled to welcome the first grand baby to both sides of our family. It is going to be one spoiled baby as both Grandmas are planning already. I have been lucky to have only some fairly mild/moderate nausea and fatigue to deal with. I now travel everywhere with Saltines and find myself falling asleep any time I sit down. Now I have a very good reason to go shopping and Frank doesn't mind going out to look at cribs. We see the doctor every 4 weeks and can't wait until our next visit when we should get to hear the heartbeat! Very exciting times for the Ellett family!
