39 weeks and still counting! I had another doctor visit today and found out that my fluid level was back up to 11.5. So we are still cooking! Somehow the baby must have been hiding the fluid last Friday. I was afraid that the level would be borderline today and then I'd have to go to the hospital again. But I was lucky and got to go home and take a nap! No baby today also meant that we got to go ahead with the shower that the church girls through for us tonight. It was so sweet of them to go to all the trouble! The food was yummy and the baby scored a lot of cute gifts. We are so lucky to have such a great ward family!

False Alarm
I went for my regular visit on Friday and found out that my amniotic fluid level (AFI) had dropped from 12 on Tuesday to 5.9. So the girls at the doctor's office sent me across the street to the hospital to be check and most likely admitted for induction. Your AFI tends to drop as you get closer to the end of pregnancy, or when your water breaks. I called Frank and was lucky to catch him before he had left for work and had him meet me at the hospital. After many, many phone calls, and much racing around Frank finally arrived (near panic I might mention!) We sat in triage for 3+ hours, my vitals were great, no blood pressure problems, the baby was healthy as could be on the monitor and moving a lot. Turns out that our doctor is out of town, and most likely will be for the delivery since she is on vacation in New York! The on call Doc decided that since I was having only small, occasional contractions, wasn't ruptured and the baby looked good that I could go home. I have to admit being happy and disappointed at the same time. I really don't want to be induced but the thought of having a baby by the end of the weekend was really exciting. My parents made it into town a day early thinking that that baby was on the way. So we celebrated my continued pregnancy by going to Downtown Disney and having a dinner buffet! Sad to say, a buffet is a waste on me since that baby leaves little room for food. It was wonderful to get to spend a little extra time with my Dad before he went back to Watsonville to be the working man. My Mom stayed here, and has been a blessing to have around already! I'm a lucky girl. I have an appointment at Labor and Delivery tomorrow, Monday, at 10am to repeat my AFI and monitor the baby. If my level continues to be below 6 they will probably induce me. We will see if I make it to the baby shower the church girls are throwing for me on Tuesday or if we are welcoming our little guy by then! We will be sure to keep everyone posted.

38 weeks and counting......
Just wanted to post a quick update. Still no baby! We're now 38 weeks and just waiting for the baby to decide when he will make his appearance. At last check I'm still 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. He is head down. Head way, way down! I feel like I've been riding a horse for the last week. So sore. Last night we went for the hospital tour. I'm hoping that we deliver during a slow time so we get a private room after delivery. Hopefully, if we let it slip that I'm a nurse that will help too! My parents are coming down this weekend so I'm very excited. Well, that is about all the news that we have for now, we will be sure to keep everyone posted!

Then you were hoped for
And finally prayed for
Now you’ve even been worked for
Our love begot you
Our love will guide you
Love will grace all of your days
We feel we’ve known you always
And we anxiously wait to gaze upon your precious face.

36 weeks
We finally got the nursery most of the way done. At least now the baby has a place to sleep. Finn thinks the room is great and loves to run and jump on the bed so he can look out the window. We were excited to have the baby shower recently. Grandma Ruth and Auntie Lisa hosted the party. We had a good time visiting with friends and family (including my Mom (Grandma Thorne), and Aunties Marcy and Darshan all the way from Watsonville.) Grandma Thorne made the baby a beautiful quilt that is sure to be a favorite. I wish it was bigger so I could sleep with it!
And even though we are having a boy you can never have too many shoes. They are so stinkin' cute. Can't wait to see them on his tiny feet!

Well, it's official. I had a doctor appointment today and my blood pressure was a little high so I'm officially off work. I'm 32 weeks and 6 days today. Holy cow, it has gone so fast. I keep thinking that I have more time until the baby gets here but it really is just around the corner. I'm not really looking forward to the birthing process (I'm a big chicken when it comes to pain) but I can't wait to meet our little boy. He is so active! Tossing, turning and hiccuping! The hiccups are really cute and Frank gets to enjoy them as well when my belly goes bump...bump...bump. I'm also looking forward to being able to sleep on my back and stomach again! My back and hips are killing. Oh, the joys of pregnancy. So, now I have a bit more time to get things ready at home. I might just have to vacuum.....might.
