Our Dear Friends…

Frank and I had the opportunity to join our dear friends, Jonathan and Janelle at the LA Temple for their sealing.  What a wonderful day!   Just over a year ago I had the chance to take pictures at Jonathan and Janelle’s wedding. Wow, time has gone by so fast.  They are such great friends and I was so thrilled to go to the Temple with them.  They are both such good, loving people…not to mention so sweet towards each other.  Congratulations you two, on the beginning of your eternal relationship.  It was such a blessing to share this wonderful experience with you.

 

Sweet, petite  little Janelle bounced up in the tree so quick I was busting up.  And she jumped up there in heels!  She was just a little excited….just a little!

All six of us.  What a wonderful core of friends!  We always have a great time together. They have become part of my SoCal family!

They just renovated the visitor’s center.  This was one of the glass ornaments that was on the doors.  Just thought it looked pretty.

Newport Temple

A week or so ago my sweet husband took me to the camera store to rent a lens that I have been drooling over.  It was so fun!  I’m not sure that renting it was a good idea….I’ve been lusting over it ever since!  After picking up the lens we made a quick trip to the Newport Temple to enjoy the beautiful grounds.  The flowers were spectacular, the evening light was amazing and cute little Liam was a challenging almost 2 year old! That boy refuses to look at the camera….good thing my camera bag is always stocked with some sort of candy.  I bribe. I admit it.  I’ve bribed many kids to get them to look at my camera!  It was a great evening.  I nearly cried when I had to take the pretty lens back on Monday morning.  I’ll cross my fingers… and toes… and eyes, and hope that Santa will buy it for me for Christmas! 

 

Like that scratch on Liam’s cheek?  I was tempted to edit it out.  But, that sweet, little face so often has bumps and bruises it’s just part of who he is.

Liam still loves water.  I stood there taking pictures certain that the kiddo was going to end up IN the fountain.

 

Here he was telling me all about the water.  He is talking so much and learns new words everyday.

How things change…

I can’t believe how quickly time goes by.  Babies grow from helplessness into independent toddlers in the blink of an eye!  Liam is a bundle of energy, constantly on the go!   I happened to be taking pictures of Liam one afternoon and got this one.  It reminded me so much of one of my favorite Liam pictures that I had to post them both again.  It is fun to see how much he has changed and how much he still looks like my little babe from so long ago.

LA County Fair

I have such wonderful memories of going to the fair as a child.  This is the first year we took Liam to the fair.  Last year we just seemed to run out of time and energy.  The LA County fair is about 10 times bigger than the Santa Cruz County fair!  The fair is so big in fact, that we’ve never seen the whole thing.  We missed sections that I’m sure Liam would have enjoyed,  but we will have to try and see more next year.  We meet up with some friends and enjoyed hours of fun, food, and of course, farm animals.

Livin’ it up….Baby style!

A few weeks ago we got to run up to Grandma and Grandpa Thorne’s house to go to Aunt Marcy’s baby shower.  We had such a good time visiting with all the family and friends that were able to attend.  And Mommy and Daddy got to have a date night while we were there!  Unheard of!  Marcy looked adorable with her little round belly!  Can’t wait to see that little babe!

Cousin Karisa made an adorable cowboy quilt.  Love it!

 

Grandma made a beautiful quilt for the new baby!  It was so soft and comfy!

Summertime Fun

Way, way back at the end of August Liam and I got the chance to meet up with some friends and go swimming.  They had a wonderful kiddie pool, completely separate from the regular pool so there was no “big kids” to worry about.  It was only 1 1/2 ft deep and had one side where the kids could walk straight  into the water.  Liam has always been a fish and loves water but this was the first time that he has ever had to walk in water.  Of course, the first thing that he did was to stumble, and fall face first into the water.  Remember, the water was only 1 1/2 ft deep, if he had put his arms down he could have pushed himself up but….he just floundered.  In the two seconds it took to pull him out I think my heart stopped, but he was fine.  It didn’t scare him at all, no tears.   Liam and his buddy Quinn spent the next two hours splashing around.  We will have to take advantage of the pool more often.

 

It was tough to get these two to both look forward at the same time!

  They even had kid sized chairs at the kiddie pool!
